S CHAND A MANUAL OF PRACTICAL ZOOLOGY CHORDATED PS VERMA The book "A Manual of Practical Zoology Chordated has been written to meet the needs of those studying Practical Zoology at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels in Indian Universities. The book is divided into three major parts. The first part includes the general techniques for the preparation of cultures of Protozoa, microscopic slides and laboratory reagents. The second part deals with recent outline classification in tabular form and a detailed one of various Invertebrate phyla with examples of each order or suborder, if any, together with the distinguishing characters and comments on museum specimens and slides. The important characters and comments on museum specimens and microscopic slides are given points wise along with suitable illustrations to facilitate the students in remembering and writing the same in spotting during the Practical Examinations: A large number of types have been selected from each phylum to fulfill the needs of students of different Universities In the third part, the diagrams of various major and minor dissections are given. The text is illustrated with 332 figures. The figures have been drawn with full clarity. Special care has been taken to coordinate the account with the figures. It is hoped that the present book will serve the purpose of those for whom it is written. The author is thankful to Dr. A.P. Tyagi, D.AV.
